You may never have thought about this, but without light there can be no life. Period. Very simply, our planet revolves around the sun - and all life needs sunlight. And as you know, sunlight is made up of the color spectrum. So you can easily understand that each color is important. And that as studies are showing, every person needs a balance of the entire spectrum. What happens if you don't have that balance? It is surely affecting your physical, mental and emotional health. Science has also recently shown that color enters your body in various ways including your subconscious mind, immune system, limbic system and nervous system. Another way to explain why color affects your moods and other inner systems. In one example a study showed that wearing black clothing depressed activity in the NK-cells (Natural Killer cells, or white blood cells that fight viral infections and tumors) and immune system. Rainbow colors, on the other hand, had the opposite effect. Makes you have a little more respect for the power of color, doesn't it? Especially when you learn that color therapy relieves pain, reduces fatigue, stress, anxiety and depression. It affects weight loss, strengthens the immune system and reduces symptoms of biochemical imbalances, including mood swings. |
